Chiropractic and golf : the winners choice

GOLF AND CHIROPRACTIC...CAN IT HELP?

Golf is a sport where your body can take a real toll. Walking for hours, torsion through your spine during your swing, repetative movements with great speed and force, mental and emotional stress and dehydration when playing for long hours and not enought water.

Many golfers complain of low back pain, shoulder injruy and reduced range of motion, restricted thoracic (mid-back) mobility, golfers elbow (and sometimes tennis elbow too), hip and knee pain linked with biomechanical imbalances, plantar fasciitis among many others.

So how can chiropractic help?

For me, as a functional movement chiropractor who assesses the body as a whole, looking at both neurological and musculoskeletal function, it is important to see how the body moves as ONE, not just individual areas where you may be noticing symptoms. Often one area is linked to the other and so when you assess your movement, neurological communication, myofacial tension and posture you get a clear picture of the imbalances that are creating your pain / discomfort.

When you address these imbalances, your body functions better, communicates better, and moves better; so whether you are a weekend rambler on course or playing pro-golf, your game can improve!
